Default Adding 12 volt power outlet to Precedent

I would like to add a 12 volt accessory outlet to the dash of my 2011 Precedent. I have a 48/12 voltage reducer installed on my ultimate light kit and would like to know is there a way to tap into the light wiring harness to power the outlet? I know I need a fuse link to the outlet also. Thanks in advance

Yes just fine the main positive and main negative coming out of the reducer and tap in. I would recommend shrink thing and solder and or scotch locks.

I used a sea sense switch block. It has three switches and a power port. Run the main power from the reducer to the block. The block has fuses. Then negs go from light ect to main battery neg and reducer neg. http://www.iboats.com/mall/image/vie...50031295_0.jpg

i agree .. you want separate wiring from lights .. also when using 12v power outlet do not go over reducer amps

don't forget a in-line fuse for the outlet and what ever you plan on operating off it. typicaly a 10amp fuse should sutable for small electronics

I use a 2 amp fuse on my power out let. Also there is a difference between a power outlet and a cig lighter.
