Sevcon 3 flashes
Good evening I have a Columbia BC2L-48 currently code 3 I was driving along and after a few moments of jitters the unit stopped and would not run no power to attachments nothing. I checked and found two bad battery cables and just went ahead and replace all the short battery link cables. I powered up the unit and tested the lights and dump attachment all worked fine I jumped in and drove about twenty feet and the unit stopped again this time the controller was flashing 3 blinks. I also noticed the strobe light was not flashing but all the accessories work, just no travel I checked and it seems I am not getting power to the contactor or to the strobe but i need to know the sequence of operation for the contactor to receive power I checked all the fuses, looked for chaffed wiring tested batteries after a good charge. when does the contactor close? when the key is turned on, or key then directional engaged, or key direction, throttle? I only tested with key, directional no throttle. does anyone have a schematic for this unit? Thank You

Re: Sevcon 3 flashes
Contactor is powered by controller, but any faults will disable the contactor. (Accessories are independent of contactor and controller, wired to batteries direct usually).
3 flash indicates the armature circuit in the controller is sensing a problem. Could be brush problem in motor, armature short, or faulty controller. |
