2007 EZGO TXT correct spark plugs?
Hi everyone, I'm new. I have an 07 EZGO TXT. It was running bad, so I decided to do a tune up on it. When I removed the spark plugs(Champion RN14YC), there was no gap on them. So I regapped them and reinstalled them. I took them out again, and there was no gap on them again. Obviously these plugs are too long and the pistons are coming up and hitting them. I bought this cart used about 4 or 5 years ago, and I have never changed them? Has someone put the wrong ones in before I got it? If so, what are the right ones? thanks

Re: 2007 EZGO TXT correct spark plugs?
Thanks Stovebolt. When I cross referenced NGK BPR5ES, it crossed over to Champion RN14YC. I am perplexed why this is happening unless Champion has just screwed up and did not make a plug that was an exact physical size replacement. Has anyone else experienced this with Champion plugs?
Oh, and when I get the right NGK plugs, what should the gap be on them? |

Re: 2007 EZGO TXT correct spark plugs?
I have seen bpr5es, bpr4es and bpr2es in those motors. 5 is the coldest of the 3.. A lot depends of your temperatures. Also if the plugs have been hitting the pistons I would be a little concerned they might have cracked..

Could the head have been milled?
You could bring it to top dead center stick something in there and measure it, then measure the plug. |
