1996 DS windshield/top frame selection

Thank you everyone for all the useful info on here, this is a great source. I searched the threads and did not find any info on my question.

I have a 1996 Carryall 2, with a composite/hard plastic full cab and an aluminum flat bed, to which I have bolted a rear facing seat.

I would like to remove the cab and mount a new front frame, rear struts and an extended 88" top. I understand that mods will need to happen for the flat bed and rear seat to tilt for engine access.

My question concerns the front windshield/top frame for the 1996 DS which i need to purchase. Are the two bolt holes in the hood located in the same place/same distance apart for pre and post 2000.5 frames? The only difference I can see from the photos of each are that the 2000.5+ frame is tapered near the top, where as the pre 2000 is straight and also has small additional brackets near the base/hood location.

Can I mount a new 2000.5+ frame to the hood of a 1996 DS, or are there other mounting differences?? I only ask because the 2000.5+ frame looks slightly more modern with the taper. I do not have any other existing parts which need to contend with this selection of frame. I will also tackle the rear strut mods after this frame selection.

As far as I know, the front cowl area uses the same mounting points for roof brackets. A buddy of mine just put a 2000.5+ roof on his '87. The only thing he had to modify was the rear brackets. Front bolted right on.
