Identification help please, motor carb
I would appreciate some help identifying my motor and drive, mostly to replace this carb. Thank you.

Re: Identification help please, motor carb
That's a G2, G8, G9 carb. It's always better to disassemble, clean and rebuild the good OEM carb. Aftermarket carbs are often junk.

Re: Identification help please, motor carb
Do you happen to recognize this motor or can you tell me where to look for numbers to identify it? It’s in my 8 passenger Taylor Dunn and we haven’t been able to find any tag or plate to get a serial number.
On the carb, I took it all apart today, soaked scrubbed and cleaned it, then made a new gasket (there wasn’t one on it) and reassembled it. I also ran all new fuel lines with filters at the tank and the carb. It immediately ran good again, but it must be the slowest car5 on the planet. Thinking about bypassing the governor. |

Re: Identification help please, motor carb
Just inward of the oil filler tube, on the top of the block will be an engine number like "J38" "285cc" or possibly "JN5". 3rd picture..on top of the transaxle is a treaded rod on the governor lever. Just turn the 10mm nut all the way in for more speed.

Re: Identification help please, motor carb
Great help thank you. I found 026604 I believe, and tried the governor adjustment. No noticeable change uphill, but going downhill it seemed to go a lot faster top end.
