School Me on EZGO TXT REAR ENDS
First off let me start with im new to the golf cart world. I picked up 2000 model TXT that im restoring from the frame up slowly as a side project to cruze around the neighbor hood/casually golf with. It has no motor, controller anything (I know these are pricey plus batts.) Pretty much a frame, drive terrain and body. All in good condition until i rolled it. I noticed that if i held my hand on the input shaft and rolled the cart i could hold the shaft in place. It would thump as the cart moved, but i could keep it from spinning if i held on to it. I though to myself could this get anymore expensive? My question is does the rear diff have a stripped gear or is this normal?

Hard to say. The differential on a Dana axle on an electric TXT is quite simple really. I would recommend you pull the axle off and flip it and open it up and look. They are super simple to pull apart and deal with.

Make sure the splines on either of the hubs are not stripped out behind the axle nut. They usually go before the diff. guts.

Re: School Me on EZGO TXT REAR ENDS
Sounds like either the splines on your hubs are stripped it happens to some. If not could be input shaft, etc. Which would not be ideal

Re: School Me on EZGO TXT REAR ENDS
It was the hubs that were stripped. Thanks
