I was able to remove the oil seal and circlip with no issues, but I had to use a slide hammer to pull out the shaft. The bearing race closest to the motor was broken but came out ok. Looked like it was the far bearing that was hard to pull loose.
I noticed the first ½ inch the input shaft was pretty badly chewed up but no sign of damage to the splines in the motor. Cleaned everything out and installed the small O ring in the housing, then the shaft, circlip and outer oilseal top with no issues. It sounds much much better, but in deaccelleration, you can still hear a little rythmic rattling but no where as loud as it was. Topped up diff with 30w and a little STP. |
