Default wiring help

I haven't posted in a while but I have started working on my cart again and I need a little help. This probably isn't that difficult but I would like to know what I am doing before I start. I have an hour meter that I am putting in my cart and I am not sure how to wire it up. it is a 2 post connection with a negative and a positive. Can anyone help me out with a wire diagram or instructions and is there more than one way to do this? thanks for any help that you can give.

Hook the Positive to the 36v switched side of your keyswitch, and the negative to the Main Pack Negative. Should work fine that way.

I need a little more help. I wired my hour meter and it seems to be counting hours all the time. it doesn't matter if the key is on or off. There is a little light on the side of the hour meter and it is always flashing. I'm guessing that means it's running. I also wired my state of charge meter and it wont do any thing at all. The key seems to work correctly. The cart wont run if the key is in the off position and will run when it is in the on position. I am going to go out and get some pictures of what I have and I will get them up later tonight or first thing in the morning. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. Thanks.

Sounds like you wired to the incoming keyswitch wire. You can use a multimeter to determine which wire is switched by the key.

OK here is what I did. I will be the first to say that I am a total rookie so its OK to point and laugh but I took pictures and then labeled what is what and going where. Let me know what you guys think.

the hour meter seems to be on and counting non stop and the state of charge is not doing anything. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks.
