the hour meter seems to be on and counting non stop and the state of charge is not doing anything. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks.
Based on your second picture, move the 2 green wires (yellow crimp ring) to the "to F/R switch" terminal on the key switch and you should be good to go.

i would think you would hook it to the solinoid cause when you step on the gas pedal that trips the solinoid

So there is a positive and a negative coming off the gage. The negative is hooked to the negative of the 36 volt pack. You are saying to hook the positive to the solenoid? do you have any pictures of what I would hook to so I know what it looks like? I don't want to fry anything buy hook to the wrong spot.

Can you tell me the way to wire the state of charge gage? I cant get it to do anything.
