94 marathon
it will go faster in reverse then it will in forward. it has a curtis contril box. is there a way to test the control box? It also has a new POT.

Wiring might be wrong. If the new POT wiring was installed backwards...there are two sets of wires coming from the POT(two wires each 4 wires total) 1 set goes to the FNR and 1 set to the controller. These cables should be different lengths. The longer cable goes to the FNR and the shorter cable goes to the controller. The best way to check is with an ohmmeter. Unplug the cables from the POT to the controller and check resistance. As the accelerator pedal is depressed with the selector in FWD you should see 0-5000 ohm. In REV you should get a reading of 0-2500ohm.
