What charger and plug combo for 48v conversion?
Going with the 48v conversion on my 95 Medalist. What charger and socket combo is the most common for this? I haven't given it much thought until now as I am just about to drop my batteries in and won't be able to charge them. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, David J. |

use the stock SB50 recepticle on the cart and go with a Schauer 48 Volt charger.

A Thunderbull 48v with a Powerwise cord set will plug right into the existing cart receptacle.

Well I will be replacing the stock charger receptical because it is old and rat chewed just as all of my other wires were. I am just trying to figure out what I am going to spend so that I can budget.

Re: What charger and plug combo for 48v conversion?
Scotty, the 95 Medalist had a SB50 connector, not the Powerwise plug. They didn't change to the powerwise plug until 1996 when they introduced the plastic body on the TXT model (and made it available on the Medalist at the same time).

Re: What charger and plug combo for 48v conversion?
I did google the sb50 connector and that is the connector on my cart. However it is all chewed up and I will probably go with the onboard charger. Thanks Rabbit.
