Keeping it clean?

What is everyone doing to keep their electrical clean,i.e..batteries,controller,cables,motor? Is it alright to just spray them with a hose? The way I've been doing it is just a damp rag,but it takes so **** long

. Looking for a faster way,maybe even something to spray on the batteries and stuff to keep the dust down. I just don't want to go and spray the battery compartment with a hose and have something short out.....

As long as your Series TXT has both black plastic dust covers in place over the controller and F/R assembly, a garden hose spray down and 30 seconds with a leaf blower once a week is fine. Mine has gotten this treatment for years with no ill effects. If you have a DCS cart, stay away from the F/R assembly with the hose.

I have a series cart. The cover is on the f&r assembly,but the cover would not fit on the alltrax and solenoid so I left that off.

I use an air compressor with blower wand, I keep a old 3 or 4 inch paint brush in the glove box so I use that also on the tops of the batterys to dust them . V

Your Alltrax is watertight as long as the round plug is in place above the serial port access hole. Solenoid is sealed also. Good to go, let common sense be your guide.

I woudl cut the cover and put back over your controller to help shield it from water.

I steam clean carts everyday with no ill effect. I dont hold the wand in one area. I keep it moving. I just dont spray those covers. But everything else is fine.

Hmmm...interesting. I never cleaned mine. The cover will not fit over my controller since I changed the batt cables to welding cables.

Those holes are very small, you won't drown the cells with a hose.

You can also put plastic Zip-Loc or Target or whatever bags on the electrical like the controller and solenoid. JUST to be safe. I did it today and it worked fine.
