Re: Stock Tire Size false advertising?
Now with DOT tires (cars/trucks/golf carts/ street bikes, etc) they have to be within 1" of the posted sidewall measurement, that is DOT law. A different maker of tire will have a different tire height. This is the reason they do not recommend you mix match tires on teh same axle. They may/will be different heights.
ex: I have a lifted 94 s15 Sonoma. I currently have 31x10.5x15 tires installed. They measure according to yokohama 30.5" tall. The same size BFG shows to be 30.8" tall, and my new tires will be 33x10.5x15 and they are only 32.3" tall. Every tire is different. Now I have bought and sold 1000's of wheels/tires in the 3 years I have been in the carting business (I was in the car industry for 10 years). I have fnd that some 20" tires will not fit inder a stock EZGo and some fit w/o issues. I have also found that some 22" are more like 23 and have issues on some of the lifted carts I get in. This has to do with tires size and spring sag on the cart. |

Re: Stock Tire Size false advertising?
They are the stock 18.5"X8.5"-8" CARLISLE tires all around.
I have a spare with full tread that measures the same size. As a test, I over inflated the spare and it just made the sides bulge, it did not increase the diameter by much. I guess if the manufacturer only has to be within an inch of the marked size then it is close enough. It just seems cheap to me. Looking forward to having some 22" tires that are hopefully close to 22" in diameter in the future. |
