How big can I go?
Hey Yall!
I am wanting to, well, HAVE to buy new tires for my buggy and was wondering how big of a tire i can go without having to go with offset rims? I was thinking about 4-5 inches of lift. It will be a block kit because I AM NOT RICH RICH!! Just wanting to know how big i can go until rubbing is an issue. I currently have 8 inch rims with no offset! Jon |

Re: How big can I go?
There are inexpensive wheel spacers available (under $30 per axle, shipped) that will allow you to run up to 22X11-8's on your stock rims - the cart in my avatar has a $70 5" block lift off of Ebay and uses the stock rims with 22X11-8 tires, I used 2" spacers on the rear and 1.5's on the front, although for awhile I was just running a stack of washers behind the rims in front (you need at least 1.75 in the rear to keep from rubbing but only a little over a quarter of an inch in front) ...

Re: How big can I go?
OR - here's another idea, how about 2X5 offset rims for $13.99 each, brand new?
http://www.buggiesunlimited.com/golf...l/W14%20082503 2 sets of spacers will actually cost you more than these brand new rims - wish they'd have had these when I did my project! |

Re: How big can I go?
i think i am going to go with this~~http://www.buggiesunlimited.com/prod...G%20MBST%20BLK
Looks like it will be my best bet. I WAS wanting the 5" lift from Ebay, but not having any luck with wheel and tire combos AND the $80 lift kit. I guess i will be an inch short! The story of my life!! Unless someone comes up with another idea, i will have to buy them before tomorrow, BU is giving 10% off, and i can get the kit and tires for $345.00. That is my budget for now! Jon |
