Re: Want to build a 35 MPH cart
Cool!
I have new T105's and will have 8 of them for 48v. Battery pack is wired with 1/0 between all. |

Re: Want to build a 35 MPH cart
How about if I went with 48v, 480 Amp controller, 12.44:1 gears and 20.7 inch tires? Will I lose to much torque to maintain speed up hills?

Maybe it is because at 94 or 102 you die just as fast as 100. :(

I would go with 700 amp controller...........the higher amp controller want change your top speed, but it will get it to top speed quicker, the quicker you get up to speed the faster your amp draw will fall........ |

Re: Want to build a 35 MPH cart
I already have the brand new 480 Amp LGS controller, I doubt they would take it back Looks like 2 batteries, 4 wheel disk breaks, 10" wheels and new tires along with the new motor. Only $2,000 away!

Re: Want to build a 35 MPH cart
You will need a motor that will spin the full 8000rpm to achieve 35mph with 12.44 stock gears and 18.5" tires. IMO that is way too much for any kind of longevity.
If you put 8:1 gears in the rear you could do the same with a 5000 rpm motor. Add 20.7" tires and you could reduce your motor speed by 500rpm. The 480a controller should be fine to achieve that speed but if you have a rear seat and load the cart up the torque will suffer. You will need a 36v motor that is rated at 3600rpm, on 48v it will spin 4800rpm. They are available from multiple sources for less than $400, probably including sponsor PQ. |

Re: Want to build a 35 MPH cart
An AC system might do the trick. We had an EZGO DCS, with our AC system installed, and it got 30mph no problem. It had a windshield too.
