Re: Workhorse Guy's What did you do for wider fender guards
I like it Scottyb, can you stop giving me all these ideas mate My cart will never get back together this way :lhmo
Dare I ask what you did to your front end guards (and keep it clean mate this is not the winch thread) lol. Thanks for all the photos and help mate, I will have to get a little gold plaque in your honour with your name on it to stick on my completed cart. Aussie |

Re: Workhorse Guy's What did you do for wider fender guards
I sort of went again conventional solutions on the front. I just couldn't see buying a conventional fender flare kit and not using the rear half... so I took some plastic sheeting and a some flat strap metal .... and made my own solution.... Mind you this workhorse is not a show cart.... Just functional

Re: Workhorse Guy's What did you do for wider fender guards
Aussie, I was also looking for something a little wider than stock for the front for my MPT. Was at a Bad Boy Buggie dealer Friday and was looking at what they use stock. Looks like it would be a direct replacement and looks to be wider and also more clearance from the tires. They are proud of them though, like $90 for the front pair.

Re: Workhorse Guy's What did you do for wider fender guards
Got my tires today. The guy where I bought my cart had a set of slightly used Mud Lites, 22-11-10, on steel rims. I got them bought for $250 so I didn't think that was too bad.
I set the front cowling in place to make sure they wouldn't hit, and had no problem there. Looks like the back is where I'll need to modify a little. Top clearance might make it, but front and back are touching. It looked to me like the cart was a little high in front. I ran it up on some concrete and measured the bottom of the frame just in front of the back tire and behind the front tire. It is 3/4" higher in front. I will probably go back to my welding shop and have him make me another set of shackles 2" longer. Then if anything I'll be a bit high in back, which may help my fender problem, plus will help when I have a load in the box. |
