All horizontal shaft gasoline engines shown on duromax.com have a pull start configuration that dictates counter clockwise engine rotation. If they offer a model with CW rotation they aren't showing it on their website where I can find it.

Rotation is determined by lookin at the output shaft.

I strongly dissagree with driving forward as reverse and reverse as forward. The gears inside the tranny are designed to pick up oil in forward better than reverse. With less oil, over heating could occur. I did this for awhile and I ebded up blowing my motor up because I pushed it to hard just to get 25mph. I found a 96 axle and got a 21 Briggs. I could never be happier. Bolted right in. I think youll be okay either way, but I had much rather do it the right way the first time.
