Default PDS Always in Reverse

2007 PDS. Just went out in the garage and the reverse buzzer is on, the key is off. It will only go in reverse even when the switch is in forward. Batteries are full charge 38.2 (Thanks to Scotty's meter) Is my switch bad or is it something else?

Trouble shoot the F&R switch at the controller per diagram... Since the controller does the directional changing, if the switch is good then the controller is bad.

For sure, unfortunately that is one of the ways they fail. You can swap the black and white F1 and F2 wires at the control and have forward only ~ my neighbor did that for a year..... But he was wowed when we finally did the 400 Alltrax upgrade/repair on it.

Thanks. I've got a little time, carts in FL and we are back in MO. I will do the upgrade, but have some questions. My batteries are good so I hate to spend another $800 now for 48V. Wife blew a fuse when I said 2 in the bagwell. What would have to be done to change to 48V later? Will the controller fit with the stock cover?

Aftermarket controllers are potted in resin to prevent dirt, water, and vibration from adversely effecting the components.
The stock controllers were not potted in resin which is why they were covered.
Also the larger aftermarket control needs more air to circulate around it to cool.
So the cover is not used. All common aftermarket speed controls are 36-48v compatible. I have a solenoid which also operates on both voltages. So you can run 36v now and 48v later, when you need new batteries, or ?

Thanks. I'll be calling to order. While I'm at it, what else, cables, etc. All flat ground and I want speed.

OK Scotty. While I'm at it, should I go with the 500amp for the future? Like changing motors. Does the 400amp come with a bracket for mounting the selenoid? You say an 8 pc cable set, but you also show a 10 pc set. What is the difference? Just want to be clear on what I'm doing first. Thanks

The solenoid bolts right to the front of the controller. Look at my build thread for pictures of controller install.
