Default ID help

New to the forum and already needing help !!!

I came across an EZGO that is missing the ID tag in the glove compartment. It appears to be a 1996 or newer TXT and the lady says she THINKS it's a 2005. Without the tag is there any way to tell what year it is? She's pricing it as a 2005 and I'm a little leary.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

one of the diffs is in the steering.2001 1/2 down used a chassis mounted steering gear, and the ones newer than that mounted the steering on the axle.

Check under the charger for a decal, if it is there enter the code at http://www.shopezgo.com/customer-ser...ialNumber.html and it will give you the year. I don't have pictures but will try to draw you a diagram of the differences.

Should be a sticker on the frame rail under and behind the front seat. Date code will tell you. If no sticker, I would be a little weary.

If it is a 2005, there will be a third sticker under the drivers side of the cart attached to the frame rail that will have the serial number.

oh and the serial number is also supposed to be stamped into the frame rail above the passenger side rear tire (but don't bet on that one, plus it requires removing the rear body to see it)

never tried that... always assumed the body was too close to the frame to read it.... Plus it's (supposedly) stamped before powdercoating so might be hard to read.....
