G1 front body material
I have a 1986 G1. What is the front body material? Urethane? What do I use to repair cracks in it?
Thanks, Don |

Re: G1 front body material
Yeah it's some kind of urethane plastic. Not as good as the stuff used today for sure. You can use a fiberglass patch on the underside then use bondo on the topside. That's what I did, although the crack on mine was small. I suppose it depends on how bad the crack is. You could also use an epoxy weld product and weld it up from behind.

Re: G1 front body material
Get the repair stuff for car bumper covers, its just like bondo but is flexible plastic. Someone used to have it in zip packs for one use, like a big ketchup bag. Grind it out some and grind the back if you can, lay the stuff on there. If you don't mind black you can use that bumper spray can from walmart for primer.
