First -- why do you want to change from the stock filter set-up? It would be easier to give advice if we knew what you were trying to accomplish by making the change.
Trying to get the filter up out of the way when you go through water/mud?
Looking for an "easier" set-up to change?
Want to get rid of the "airbox seal" problem?
Trying to get more air through/easier breathing?
Or just want to do "something"?

I have 2 G9s and a G2 with stock air filter set-ups and haven't found a "need" to make any major changes --- but maybe I'm missing something?
