Default Newbie g1 help clutch or sec seat spring

Hello, been searching around and I think I have it correct, but want to be sure.

We have had this cart for 15 years and it has been great. It's a g1 2-stroke we use at the racetrack to haul tools tires our fat butts around. Started to make terrible noises on decel looks like the sec seat spring is the culprit

Is a helix the same as a secondary spring seat?

I tried to attach a picture with an attachment hopefully I got it right.

I am planning on putting a performance clutch on it to help it get up hills better at the same time. If I put on bigger wheels and tires and a lift will it still pull big hills?

Thanks for the help!

Man, that is some "carnage" to the spring seat/helix and sliding sheave You'll need both. Do a search for a "touque spring" for G1's. Some just make shime's to make the stock spring stronger. Just hope the input shaft is not damaged where the sliding sheave bushing rides.

I have the sheaves, good used condition of my cart. I upgraded to a new machined performance set, don't need the originals. I don't have the helix though. PM me if you are interested.

Thanks for the help. I will cross my fingers on the input shaft!

Thanks for the offer, but i want to get a peformance one too. Have a big hill on the back side of my property that no golf cart has made up yet.

I may put a lift on it and bigger tires too, just hope the bigger tires doesnt kill the torque to get up the hill!
