PARTIAL SUCCESS....! For grins and giggles I put it in reverse and it cranks~! So, I must still have a contact issue in the forward position. At least now I can go to bed knowing I'm close.... Thanks again for your patience Marathon!

I did notice the contacts in switch are spring loaded, should I try tightening the contact(s)?

They need to make good contact. Do whatever you have to do to achieve that.

Got it...finally~! I took the F-N-R switch completely apart, cleaned it really well, filed the contacts (with a fine file), and put it all back together. I'm still shocked it was the switch since I didn't mess with it in any way. I guess sitting in the garage for a few months caused the copper to oxidize.

Thanks again for your help....

Ahhh....but the saga continues..... I have it up on jack stands, so I started it and it ran for about a minute, then it died and won't start now. GRRR.... I think there is dirt in the carb, so the next step is to pull the carb and clean it. I'm thinking I should have left it dirty and rusty, at least it was running... Now it's clean and shinny, but doesn't run....
