Electrical question
I recently purchased a ezgo that is running on 36 volts, it has headlights on it and when i test the voltage it says 18 volts. Is it save to say there is a reducer somewhere on the cart? Would i be able to power a 12 volt radio or other headlights of of that same source. I'm new to the cart world. thanks in advance for any help ..

Re: Electrical question
No, not safe to say you have a reducer. 36v is achieved by connecting 6 6v batteries in series. Thus adding the voltages together in a sting. A12v reducer would connect to 36v and reduce it to 12v. You may be reading 3 6v batteries in series at 18v?

Re: Electrical question
Alot of carts out there are running 12v accessories on two 6v batteries but it is not the best for the 2 batteries involved as they are drawn down at a faster rate than the rest and the Pack's health depends on all the batts being equal during usage and charging..... A good voltage reducer is worth the $ .
