My assumption is that it would revert back to 6000. Shouldn't matter if you hand type that value in the parameter to load it. The value check happens when you try to save the setting. The firmware is holding the max values for the field. I would need to flash the controller back to an earlier firmware first.

My 2022 i40L came from the factory 2 weeks ago, has firmware version 200, and has the 7,200 rpm limit. Has a top speed of 33-34.

As an aside, I’ve been trying almost everything in the programming to get it faster, including changes to gear ratio and tire size, but it’s pretty clear that the rpm limit combined with your actual tire diameter is the limiting factor. Could probably squeeze it up to 35-36 with larger tires (running Street Fox 23s now), but it wouldn’t be worth it.

If they really have lowered the rpm limit to 6,600, they’re hurting their main competitive advantage in my opinion.

I talked to someone at Icon and they said yes that was what they were being set to, but I still do not 100% trust them. I kinda feel like they were just trying to blow me off. The i40FL is closer to an i60, so maybe it is just the bigger carts they are changing(?), but to me I would think those would be the ones you would want to allow the maximum RPM because they are heavier and limit it on the lighter carts. But who knows maybe it was a safety thing :(

I bought mine in January of 2022. The dealer programmed it for me but it was their first one. I think it needs some changes. Very hard to drive around the clubhouse as it wants to take off. Would love to soften the pedal a bit and then have it ramp up quickly. Goes 33-35 or so, but just really touchy. Is there an easy way to fix? I bought the old cable not knowing there was a new controller. Can I use that cable along with the purchase of a USB to TTL adapter? Trying to figure out how I can improve my tune. Thanks.

You should be able to modify the cable to make it work. The connector is the same.

I can't seem to find how to modify the 2021 cable I have? Are there directions anywhere on the site?

There are threads here showing how to make both cables. The trick will be if you need to move a pin in the connector. They are really tough to remove without the extractor tool.

Did anyone find the solution to the 6600 rpm limit? I have access to the excel file that goes with the programming software, but I'm no software engineer.

What happens if you try to change it in the motor menu?

My experience is that the value in menu 2 governs the max shown in the speed menu 6 which is where you actually change the carts speed.

Are you running the software in admin mode?
