![]() I have a 91 2 Stroke that will run great when you use after it sits for a while and thinks about itself, then I guess it feels guilty or something and decides to run, as long as you don't let off the GO pedal. Once you let off the GO pedal it decides it doesn't have to GO any more for a while. So it will take a nap and just not run. It has fire, the fuel pump is sending gas, the oil is pumping fine. I have taken the carb apart and cleaned and cleaned looking for whatever that little piece of whatever that is causing a blockage. The "mechanic" that had it before me did not put a gasket on the bowl, he simply covered the entire bowl with red RTV to stop some of the leakage. After cleaning all the RTV off, I installed a new gasket, or O-ring. I am no rocket scientist, I am a jet engine mechanic, but I am at a loss. I am used to dealing with the suck-squeeze-bang-blow type engines and this is my first foray into the 2 cycle world. I have read through the forum and tried just about everything that I can in my back yard to get this thing running. Oh, the body is not a 1991. I got this cart from the "mechanic" for a 20 guage double barrel shotgun he wanted from my safe.
Any advice or tricks would be appreciated and fired for effect. |

![]() I have checked the spark after it quits and it is getting spark, also disconnected the fuel line and spun it around and its spits fuel at me. I will pull the muffler and check that.
This morning it quit up the driveway, so I now have to push it back, for you city folk, thats about 600' of pushin'. And thanks to Fay, its now all mud. Thanks all for the help, I'll post what I find with the muffler, not holding out much hope, unless, the "mechanic" used some other kind of high speed knowledge to make a gasket for that. |

![]() I have a similar issue and a new plug got me running again. Even though the old plug seemed to be fine. Turns out the bigger issue is the carburetor, but I had to get past the plug to find that out. Make sure you have the right carb for your motor. Mine had a 4 cylinder carb on it (previous owner).

![]() This does happen plug can go bad under comp., try a new plug. Could also be bad reed valve. Had an outboard with cracked feild coils would run 10 min. quit then have to cool to start then run till heated back up.

![]() I took the exhaust off and it does not have any blockage. Does anyone know what plug should be in there? Might could have the wrong plug in it.
