Default new cart with pic:)

Just picked up this 2013 ezgo txt (freedom) gas yesterday. the couple that owned it moved to a place where electric carts were required. it is like new and we got a good deal I think:) it looks like it may have the midrise 2 inch factory lift and nice wheels. it has seat belts, lights and triangle. the prev owner kept the strobe. I have had jeeps and still have a boat but this is my first buggy very excited! can anyone tell me the difference between the freedom and the valor? any other things to be aware of with these newer ezgo carts? it runs great so far. I plan on keeping ethanol free fuel in her just like my boat.

thanks guys.. used it a bunch this weekend and really like it. i adjusted the govenor and its peppier for sure. at first it would only go 16mph(acording to phone speedo app) now it can hit 23 mph. im going to try not to run it more than 20 though. Is 23 still ok or is that overrevving it?

It has been mentioned on this board that the newer carts have plastic in the gearing and are prone to blow apart if run at higher speeds. A search of the forum will get you more info on it, but be careful with the governor. Cart looks really nice.

yeah I have read a little about the rear end and no rev limiter. it is running 18 inch tires so I am not sure what the safe speed is. it doesn't have a tach.

I commented RE the rear end and engine in your other post, but I will re-iterate it here - ANY adjustment of the governor on the Kawi's can contribute to rear-end failure, not a matter of "if" but a matter of "When". Might be a season, might be 3, might be 2 weeks - No way to know until it happens. The engines are fairly safe from destruction as the design will allow the valves to float far before any real damage can occur from over-revving, but a simple tach and some restraint can alleviate that problem IF (and only IF) You pull the rear end apart and get rid of the entire governor assembly.
