Eratic F/R after new F/R switch install
Title says it all. Year 2000, 48v, Club Car. Put in a new F/R switch (done once before so wires are marked and correct). Changed because would not reverse. Indeed, switch had damage. New switch will go forward and reverse. Then, only forward. Then only reverse. Sometimes if it will not reverse, then I go forward, then reverse -- and reverse then works. And vice versa. Thoughts? Thanks

Re: Eratic F/R after new F/R switch install
Probably micro-switch #1 in the FNR is either bad or not getting depressed all the way as you switch from Forward to Reverse.
You can bend the micro-switch lever closer to the FNR cam to make sure it gets closed when the FNR is in Forward and Reverse positions. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...car_ds_48v.jpg |

Re: Eratic F/R after new F/R switch install
Thanks -- from your diagram, appears to be the most forward (position) micro-switch, correct?

Correct, You can verify the wire colors to be sure.

Sometimes there is enough slop in the m/s mounting holes to allow you to ease off the screws and rotate the m/s body to get a more positive reaction to the cam.

And once in a while these rotary switches have built in flaws that compromise the main contacts.

Re: Eratic F/R after new F/R switch install
OK... what appears to be happening is... when I rotate the lever to the left (to F) if I go 100% of the way, no deal. If I go (approx.) 95% of the way, contact. Same for reverse. Now, hard to imagine it could rotate off the main contacts -- in fact it doesn't look like it has. It is going beyond the dead-center point but looks to still be in contact. What am I missing? Thanks!

Re: Eratic F/R after new F/R switch install
I think you got a flawed base can you post a pic of the back side of the switch in F and in R? I will try to show you were to look for the mis-match if in fact that is what's happening? I don't really know yet
