G19 48V Throttle Sensor Reading
During troubleshooting i took OHM reading of my throttle sensor and only got 3.79K (throttle any position) as opposed to the 5k reading called for in the spec. I was able to correct the issue due to loose wire elsewhere, but was curious if the sensor needs replacing. What impact (if any) will lower reading have on operations?

Re: G19 48V Throttle Sensor Reading
Does my question make sense? I thought this would be a lay-up for most but can't get anyone to post any info. The cart runs, so it can definitely run on less than 5K, but I guess this limits speed? I have never tested for MPH.

Did you do the test readings with the "TPS" still mounted in it's box?

Might try taking off the box inspection plate and see if the accelerator throw is at full engagement. The adjustment is at the accelerator pedal.

Re: G19 48V Throttle Sensor Reading
I will give it a look although for on particular reading it is supposed to test 5K in any position - I think. So wouldn't the adjustment you reference be for the variable reading?
I just put in a Alltrax XCT (300A) and performance is very good with old, stock motor as i get 21-22 MPH on flat ground and i start braking at 25-26 MPH downhill as I am getting old and don't want to meet my maker on a golf cart. I bought a TPS thinking i should replace but they aren't cheap and i don't want to install just for the heck of it. Thanks for responding! |

Re: G19 48V Throttle Sensor Reading
With the Alltrax PC application you can see the throttle response in percent. If you are getting the full range of 0 to 100 percent, you are good. I would not worry about pot resistance.

Re: G19 48V Throttle Sensor Reading
Actually, while going through Alltrax program for first time i realized that RPM was set to 6000 and there is a warning to not exceed motor specs which is 3650 RPM - so that explains part of the speed gains. Evidently the factory setting was too high and now my top end speed gains have been reduced. I guess that's better than "smoking" the motor due to incorrect settings. Anyway, throttle now reads 99% which i assume is still OK with TPS that is installed. Thanks again for insight.
