Ezgo marathon wiring issues
I'm brand new to golf carts but not to wiring. I bought a tricked out golf cart for practically nothing. All of the excessories were unhooked before I got it and I'm not sure if everything was hooked back up correctly since I got it with no batteries and tried to figure it out. I have looked at multiple wiring diagrams and can't seem to find one with the solenoid and box in front of the axle. Previous owner put in a next control box and that's what leads me to questions. I've tried looking at pictures of battery compartments of other marathons and can't find one clear enough to trace wires. Please take a look at the pictures I've included and give me a little knowledge. I can take more of anything you need. It will not move or even try to move, I know there's something messed up. Thanks in advance.

What little I see it's a resister cart with all those cables running off the swipper assembly. I posted the right schematic for you.

Re: Ezgo marathon wiring issues
You mentioned the previous owner installed a 'next control box'. Is that some type of motor controller that replaces the coil resistors?
Also, you mentioned it didn't have batteries; the Trojans in the pictures definitely look like they've been around a while. Are they fully charged and strong batteries? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk |

Re: Ezgo marathon wiring issues
The 'Box' as you called it in front of the axle does it have the cables running to it in the pictures you posted and has coils inside of it?
The pictures you posted show a pre 89 marathon setup with resister coils. The throttle is the swipper on the board in your pictures. The gas pedal pushes the rod and it swip's the brass contacts to make it go faster. Take a picture of the whole area so we can see what you have. The more clearer the pictures the better. |

Re: Ezgo marathon wiring issues
Well I can't help with your specific question. However, you might want to consider updating your wires, or at least closely inspecting you lugs and connections while you are doing this work.
The circled connection is kinked quite a bit and looks to be separating from the lug. a.jpg |
