Cart only shudders/shakes? What could this be
This has happened twice now.
New Alltrax controller, Motor, solenoid, cables, etc so was shocked when this happened to us a few weeks ago. First time: We had driven for a 30+ mins with no problem, came to complete stop for a few mins then it would not go forward or backwards, would only shudder/shake, no forward or back. Towed it home and found a lose nut on a cable. Thought that must have been the prob About a week of daily use with no problem u til just now Second time: drive intermittently (starting and stopping) for about 10 mins, came to full stop and once again, no forward or back, just shakes I’ll try and post some pics of the current setup What could this be? Re: Cart only shudders/shakes? What could this be
I see a couple things that stand out right away.
One is how the B+ cable is attached at the controller. With those cable ends stacked like that I don't see how it's making a good connection there. Also looking at the Negative connection from the OBC, can't tell in the pic, but is the small cable on top or below the big cable? The large cable needs to be on first then the small cable. The Fuse on the Pack positive battery post IMO should be moved either to the Solenoid or to it's own fuse block. You will end up with corrosion on the fuse with it on the battery, and those fuses are not cheap. |

Re: Cart only shudders/shakes? What could this be
Fairtax, thanks for he insights, I'm pretty new and still learning so very much appreciated.
the 2 4G wires on the B+ post are tight but I can see how they look funny in the pic. The larger 4G wires are on the "bottom" of each connection with smaller gauge connectors stacked on top at all locations (with the exception of the diode on the solenoid that is on the bottom of those posts) That particular wire (from back of OBC) shows to go to the B- terminal in all the wiring diagrams I saw but I figured going to that post (which goes directly to the B-) should be the same thing... is that causing a problem? I will move the fuse based on your suggestion thanks again, |

I will check on this. Do you have more than one account? That's about the only way I can see this happening. Both user names have the same IP Address. But they have a different member number.

Re: Cart only shudders/shakes? What could this be
Ok, the username account thing is resolved! the tapatalk app defaulted to a diff email so i guess i have 2 accounts... the cart issue still ongoing! LOL
It was fully charged before the 10min ride this morning that resulted in the problem. right now it is reading 50V all the way to the B+ and B- of the controller. The first time this happened I stripped it all down looking for the loose connection, thus resetting the OBC. I'm tempted to try that now but dont want to reset just to have this happen again later. any other ideas? thanks all, |

update - tried the pedal again and this time it shook for a minute them the solenoid clicked and it started working!
looks like the problem may be with the solenoid. still figuring things out... |
