Default Church motor

Does anyone know of a reasonable replacement for the church cart I am rebuilding. We were not expecting to have to replace the motor. The cart is a 2000 DS 6 passenger. The studs were so rusted I tried along time to prevent this but it happened anyway.

I would check with the sponsors first for a stock replacement or better. That said I had one built years ago by EMP that had a temperature sensor in it that would allow to shut down the cart if it got too warm.

A 3hp motor on a 6 passenger cart is like a 4 cyl motor in a school bus. It was destined to fail by design. This cart needs 10 hp and probably a bigger control but I know - that's not in the budget now, but it should be in the future for a 10 yr old limousine.

If money is tight try the 10 hp Admiral A1 assuming yr 2000 series cart with good batteries.

I can't tell what I'm looking at, but is that something that a brush replacement kit would include? Doesn't look like it's unfixable. Perhaps reach out to Plum Quick. They're a Christian company and perhaps could give you some relief on a basic Bandit build. Just a thought.

Got an electric shop or alternator/starter rebuild shop in your area?
I’ve had exactly that same problem fixed on a motor that’s still in use today. The stud is replaceable if it needs to be, but you won’t find it in a parts diagram. It will also need a new insulator and new brushes would probably be a good idea while it’s apart.
