Default 79 Yamaha g1

I just bought a 79 Yamaha G one it was running rough so I replace the fuel pump and the carburetter it runs pretty decent but I noticed my exhaust at the head is dripping a little bit of oil wondering if that’s because the fuel mixture is too rich or am I getting too much fuel the oil injector it’s not hooked up at the moment I am mixing fuel for it right now

What oil are you using?

What ratio?

Could be a head/cylinder gasket issue, might try checking the bolts.

Stock mixing ratios are between 150:1 and 300:1 depending upon rpm and load according to the manual. I had lots of luck mixing at 125:1 with Echo brand synthetic air cooled 2 stroke oil that has an ethanol stabilizer. If you see oil leaking near the cylinder gasket then it's either a bad gasket, not torqued down enough, or too much oil in the fuel, or some or all of the above. Your carb could be running too rich also.

I’ll have to take a closer look exactly where it’s coming from but when I put my finger at the bottom of the exhaust pipe where it joins the head manifold that’s where I’m getting oil on my finger I had the exhaust pipe off at one time to do the barbeque burn and when I installed it I did not notice if the rings were good and not
