Default Gauge Installation on Ez Go Marathon

I just bought a gauge to determine the charge of my cart. It is cheap with no instructions. I already read through previous posts on how to install them, but I cannot do it the way described.

I guess I have two questions to ask:

1. The guy who sold me the cart has disconnected the key switch because he lost the key, is this going to hurt me in the long run? Like waste any unneccesary battery power because the cart is always on?

2. If not, how do I install this little gauge since I don't have a key switch to jump to?

Thanks,
Josh

direct to the batteries, pos wire on #1 battery and neg wire on #6 battery.....it uses so little voltage it would take 10 years for it to run your battery pack down....................................

welcome. you don't need the key at all. it is really only there to unauthorized people from using the cart. #1 battery will be the first in your battery chain. starts with #1 pos. and runs thru #6 neg. each of those batts have a cable that does not go to another batt.
