Default G-2 Airbox

On the G-2 Airbox, is there supposed to be a dime sized hole in the bottom of the cannister beneath the filter or am I missing a rubber grommet the is supposed to be there?

You might be talking about the grommet that attaches the box to the frame .

Yes, the early G2's had 2 holes in the bottom of the air box housing (1-under the air filter and 1-in the baffle area). These should be plugged with the grommets or the air box isn't sealed correctly. I can only add, they must have been for cleanout?
