Just made an second attempt to install a rebuilt robin engine received through the Miami/Medley office. First attempt engine run smoothly for 2 -3 minutes only to lock up after, sent in again supposedly repaired, reinstalled yesterday, won't start, noticed pressure blowing though top valve cover and fuel pump not moving any fuel. Have spark, but will not start. $800, two drives to North Florida O'Brien" two install jobs no success so far. Please help!

Have you got a vaccume guage? Alomost sounds as if the cam wasn't instaleed correctly, and you have crankcase pressure. If the cam is installed out of time, the valves will open and close at the wromg times, and this can cause crankcase pressure, when you should have vaccume. I am guessing you have a pulse-pump, that works off of the crankcase? This would explain the oil coming out of your drain back hole as well. The vaccume can be tested at the dipstick.

hook up a gravity feed for the fuel to make sure the motor is all good first.."water bottle up high with hose to carb" i use a boat fuel hose with a primer bulb, and mines not really gravity feed and been this way since i owned the cart..maybe it will get the motor figured out then n to the fuel pump next maybe?

Bill, yes i do have a vaccume gauge, and yes it's a pulse pump. do you know what the psi should be on the vaccume for crackcase, as well as the psi on the compration. I'm currently reading 90 psi.

90 psi is WAY to low for a rebuilt engine should be 150+ something is wrong with that motor...............
