Starting issue!
Ok fellas, I'm back already. I did search before posting, so maybe you guys can help. My cart is an '05 CCDS. I've had it about a week and now I'm having problems starting. Here's what happens: I turn the key w/ the gear selector in gear, it makes a noise like it's going to start, and the starter pulley just creeps over, then clicks. Tried another battery, started fine.... for a while, then same thing, no start. So here's what I think?
1: Starter/solenoid is bad. 2. Generator is bad., and I keep draining batteries. or 3. Wiring/microswitch problem.....somewhere. I don't know but I don't want to throw parts or money at the problem, and I need this thing to be reliable too! LMK what you guys think, thanks. -SS |

Re: Starting issue!
Tell me about it. I've gone round and round trying to find the reason mine just quit and won't start unless I jump the big posts on the solenoid and give it throttle.

Re: Starting issue!
Start by putting a volt meter on battery. Whats voltage? leave meter connected and start cart in maintenance mode. Rev motor to approx 2000 rpm. Whats battery voltage?

Re: Starting issue!
Jumping in no a tach is not required it will seem fast to rev it up 2000
but rev it and watch the volts for a minute. A charged bat will read 12.5 |

Re: Starting issue!
You know Ive been thinking of putting a volt meter gauge on my cart to watch the battery voltage when driving, idling or when its off. I think it is a great tool to have like an oil pressure gauge instead of the dummy light and an rpm gauge.
