Cushman Electric Flatbed Cart
Ok, I am new to the forum and working on a old 36 volt cushman cart for the farm. It has been working until recently, but it has suddenly died. I thought it was the solenoid, so I replaced it. At this point, if I put 12 volts (from an external source) across the small terminals of the solenoid, and push the peddle the cart will run. When I push the pedal otherwise, I do not get any voltage across the small terminals. I pulled the leads off the micro-switch (at pedal) and connected them, hoping that it might be a bad switch. Still no luck.
I am at a loss as to what else could be going wrong. There is a diode connecting the red and white wires going to the small solenoid terminals, could this be bad? Causing the solenoid not to switch? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: Cushman Electric Flatbed Cart
I have looked at a number of similar problems with electric carts, and this forum has been very helpful, but still no luck in getting the cart to move.
I can jump the solenoid and works great. Bypassing the microswitch at the pedal does not resolve the issue. This is a Cushman Titan I am working on. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your help in advance!!!! |

Re: Cushman Electric Flatbed Cart
Thanks for replying. I just pulled the leads off the microswitch, and I am measuring 6 volts. Should this not be 12 volts?

After a few more hours I realized that the pedal micro-switch was set so that when the lever is depressed it opens the circuit. In other words, when you press the pedal the lever lifts, and the circuit closes. Rewired the small terminals of the solenoid to 12v source, and its running!! This site is great, and led me to the repair !!! |
