Default Couple questions on my new CPP kit

Do you hook up the choke? If so how?
How do I do away with the factory governer on the rear end?
And I have a backfire when I let off the gas.
This thing is a beast!

I bought a universal choke cable and made a couple brackets, works great. I have never use it!! Mine doesn't need the choke, so I ended up disconnecting it. I removed the gov lever and zip tied the shaft to keep it from moving. Make sure you don't have any oil on the air filter, even though Tom drains the oil out there is still enough so when they flip the box all around in shipping it could happen.

Did u run the throttle cable right to the carb? This axle gov has me confused. Guess because I can't figure out how it works. Thinking about removing the spring and hooking the cables together. Any thoughts?

Question Re: Couple questions on my new CPP kit

TXJole.
The backfire is usually caused by not enough back pressure (no tailpipe)
or a exhaust leak.

If you still want to be able to adjust top speed you could install our yamaha speed spring.

Shouldn't need a choke on a 18. I know hard to believe.

Probably not a bog but more of a hesitation? Timing advance key cures it. And youy will also get better throttle response once she breaks in a little

I have the key installed from u. I think I have the idle too low. I lowered it alittle, it just sounded alittle high when I first installed it. If you don't feather the throttle at take off it will die.

May have to richen up idle mixture a little, See if a little run time cures it.

Grab hold of tail pipe with pliers close to muffler now grap pipe about four inches away with your other hand and twist it a little you will see one way tightens it one way loosens it. Should stay on fine. You can always put a hose clamp on it also.
