According to my manual this side up.I didn't have my manual when I put mounts in the first time so maybe I put then in upside down the first time.

Re: Marathon motor mounts
im with you guys,,,the rubber must really suck nowadays..i have a old complete parts 2 stroke motor with the mounts still on the cradle and they seem better than the new ones i got also..and they been in the weather for 10 yrs on the ground, and still feel like there kinda good..

Re: Marathon motor mounts
I agree with the quality these days.. Sad! Thats why I was inquiering about making solid mounts a while back. Maybe out of aluminum I'm just afraid it will make my cart in to a giant tingle bomb. I still think about it though when my new ones die I just may give it a shot.

Re: Marathon motor mounts
My Opposed is solid-mounted,not enough vibration to even care about.I think that if you have a Pavement-Cart,I'd worry about the vibration, but if you are running Off-Road,its' so bumpy, whos' gonna notice minor vibrations anyway?

Re: Marathon motor mounts
Make your own insulators with some shock-rubbers and a steel-sleeve.set the compressed-height with the sleeve, then use a lock-nut.As long as the bracket is sandwiched with the rubber, and it stays tight,it will work fine.
