Xct 400 dcs
I have a XCT 400 for my DCS... Is there any real need to update the controller software?
Not sure what would be the point if everything is running okay. Thx Skip Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

Re: Xct 400 dcs
Depends on what you mean by "software".
The Field Map loaded ought to be one of the recommended ones for the motor installed and the operation system of the controller ought to be the latest reversion. The laptop I use is on a wireless network and automatically checks for updates each time I connect it to the controller, so I usually tell it to go ahead and update. |

The field map that I am using was supplied by EMP when I purchased the motor.
Didn't know if there were updates on software for the XCT itself? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

Re: Xct 400 dcs
The XCT is relatively new technology and there have been many updates released which you would be wise to make to your unit. Almost all of the original field maps have been superseded and new features have been added, old features have been updated. Simply plug the control into any internet connected computer with a usb cable and it will contact Alltrax for updates.

If the field maps have been replaced... Should I contact EMP for a new field map or how does that work?
EMP supplied my field map file when I purchased a motor from them. Not sure if it is anything different? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

Re: Xct 400 dcs
They would be the map supplier for your motor then. I'm sure you can just email them, asking if there is a updated map or if you are good with the original.

Can you still update the onboard software for the XCT without updating the field map? These are 2 separate things right?

The field map is very much a separate feature in the software. You can't change it by accident anymore than you can change your BGW password by accident. |

I was looking on Alltrax site in the XCT page to see if I could find any revision changes.
I know most software upgrades show what updates and improvements there are based upon software version. Could not find this information... Maybe someone has seen it? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |
