Default No power?

just changed the batteries in my older model EZGO and after my $1100 upgrade has left me with a new bank of batteries and no power to the motor. I initially installed one battery (first in line) backwards with no ill effect to my knowledge, and when I realized what I did, I made the correction and have no status lights lit up on my Curtis SepEx speed controller. The solenoid also does not "click" when the petal is depressed. Basically it's a brick. When I had one battery reversed at least the solenoid clicked, and I had a flashing yellow status light on the controller. With the reversed battery installed the bank of batteries reflected 36 volts vs 48 and would not respond to the battery charger and now corrected the battery bank reflects 48 volts and I have my charger running as I type. The cart's battery meter lights up as 100% charged and all headlights, horn, and backup buzzer work. I jumped the large terminals on the solinoid with no luck, but I can make the solinoid "click" by jumping the small terminal with the large terminal on the same side (right side) telling me that power is getting to the solinoid at some level.
Did I fry my speed controller? Did I fry the solinoid?
How does power travel on the cart, from battery to solinoid, to controller, or battery to controller to solenoid?
Thank you in advance to anyone who may answer.
I'm a long time reader, but rarely post.

Default Re: No power?

Your controller only gets its "big power" from the solenoid, the control & signal circuits (the ones that turn the controller on & tell it what it should be doing) generally don't go through the solenoid. These are likely where your problem is hiding. Have you downloaded the manual for your controller? It contains the pinout of the plugs & what they do. I am guessing it's a Sepex 1244 controller because it has status lights (& you didn't indicate it was a AC system). Also, stop randomly "jumping" wires like that, it's a good way to kill a controller. I will also add that I don't think having one battery briefly installed backward killed the controller. I'll try to dig up the link to the manual for you. Here is the 1244 manual: http://curtisinstruments.com/?fuseac...813E%291%2Epdf
