Default RXV steering wheel adapter problem

Good afternoon all, anyone ever seen or had problem putting on a steering wheel adapter on a RXV? I had an ezgo adapter that was supposed to fit but couldn’t slide on all the way, the shape of the column wouldn’t accept the adapter (to fat at base). Jason at Jason’s Golf Carts was awesome, contacted supplier, but they had never seen the problem. He sent out a new one of a different brand- same problem. It can’t engage all the way, the diameter of the adapter is too narrow for the base of the column so it leaves a gap between adapter and the column. The ezgo wheel fits fine. Here was my conversation with Jason:

1. Yes, the splines engage/line up correctly
2. Yes, tonight I lowered it down (had it up on jack stands, but lowered it just in case that would fix something), I got an impact air wrench and tightened it down until even the impact wrench couldn't budge it, this did nothing to fix the gap, only made it nearly impossible to get off.
3. The front end has not been "tweaked" and the stock steering wheel still goes on and slides on perfectly for spacing.

I have taken some more pictures if you could look at them and send them to the vendor.* It is clear on the RXV that the column that the adapter slides onto is slightly conical, it is narrower at the top near the spines than it is lower toward the base... the adaptor I got doesn't seem to have any change in interior diameter from the top to the bottom.* You can see in the pictures below that the spines engage but cannot go down far enough to be fully engaged to the column.* You can see that the column has a ring on it from the adaptor being too narrow for the diameter of the column.* Thank you for your time.

Anyone ever seen this or know what I am doing wrong?

Pictures attached below. Thank you for any help!
