Pre charge resister

It has been know to fix some pretty perplexing problems

Well, I hooked up resister, took the b- and b+ off controller and reset throttle as instructions said, there was a small spark per the Inst. waited a minute or 2, put everything back as it was and the new $30 resister wire glowed red and melted in half. The one that was on there that I repaired did the same thing a few weeks back when this issue came about. Now this one did the same??? Pls lend me some of your knowledge. Still getting the one green and 6 red, pre charge failure code...

From reading this, it appears you didn't buy a precharge resistor, but a filter.

The diode and resister or on solenoid, I bought the capacitor resister, that goes from b- to gnd . I just got my “cister-cap-“ mis worded. Sorry.

Capacitor and resistor are two different things. The thing from Alltrax for the B- to heatsink mount bolt is a capacitor. The thing that goes on the large terminals of the solenoid is a resistor. We need to be sure what's getting installed where on this thing.

How old is the solenoid?
That resistor is passing a lot of current that should be flowing through the solenoid contacts.
Due to age and wear the contact areas will not make good contact and the resistor passes the high current demand.
It will glow and burn out.

I would check to insure you have the correct voltage to the small terminals on the solenoid also.

If it's good then more that likely the solenoid is bad.

It no volts to it then there could be a controller problem.
