Default Shuttle stopped running

I have an EZGo shuttle that is described here:

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...de-update.html

It has been upgraded to 48v with a Carts Unlimited kit that included everything but the motor. It is a series cart but I installed the reversing contactor with the upgrade. Cart has run great since the upgrade but pooped out yesterday and I need some help troubleshooting.

Batteries are 52v and each test good.

Every cable is tight and clean.

Solenoid clicks and tests good.

Throttle signal appears to be good at the POT and is making it back to the controller.

Any thoughts?

Picture worth 1000 words. Check the controller inputs. When you try to go there should be 48v + to controller small pin #1, and 0-5000 ohm between the wires connected to pins #2 and 3. The test 2 & 3 disconnect them from the controller and plug your ohm meter test leads into both wires and press the gas.

Yeah, we did that Scotty. We are getting the ohm range that you describe at the contoller on pins 2 and 3 and there is 52v on first pin.

Also, for what it's worth, when the solenoid is closed there is 48v (not 52) on the bottom big terminal next to the 3 controller inputs. When the accelerator is pressed it drops to 0. I recall reading about that somewhere but I cant recall now.

Still hoping to get some more input on this one but a question...

Is there any way to test the motor while it is still in the cart? IE, can I jack the back of the shuttle up and run jumper cables from pack + and - to certain motor studs to see if it will spin? My old Cushman tests like this:

Connect A2 to S1
Connect S2 to +
Connect A1 to -

If the motor spins then it's ok.

Does anyone know if this is is the same thing for these series motors?

If B+ on the controller is dropping to 0 when you press the pedal sounds like bad solenoid or cable connection.

Is B+ that lower one? I don't have the cart in front of me right now so I can't check the labeling. The terminal that is dropping as described is the one in the pic.

I guess I just assumed you were referring to B+. Check the label and let us know.
