Re: Marathon rebuild lots of fun
Nice start! You staying electric or dropping a gas engine in it? If staying electric you going with big lead acid batteries or going lithium?
You're at a great stage to wonder about the 'could be' part of restoring a cart... I think if I were to start fresh I'd make a low rider this time, possibly even stretch it. |

Personally I would lean towards the silver. There are so many blue carts out there.
Cleaning and painting the frame has already made a difference! Are you going to upgrade to solid state or staying with the resistor coils? |

I've never priced it, but always assumed powder coating made more sense if you were gonna keep it, unless you got a friend...
Were it mine to flip, I'd just blast and paint it. Same with controller upgrade, but it kinda depends on the market where you are. |

Re: Marathon rebuild lots of fun
I actually went with silver. I am staying with resistor coils I picked up the cart super cheap and although I really like working in the garage I am hopeful to make a few bucks on this cart and I didn’t want to put a lot of money in an older cart

Re: Marathon rebuild lots of fun
I don’t have the ability to paint a body and make it look like anything worth owning. I priced having it painted and powder coat a as crazy as it sounds powder coat was $100 cheaper. And yes I plan on selling it when it is done. It should be a nice cart for someone brand new batteries, new seats powder coated body and a bunch of other stuff that needed to be replaced. I am also going to put underbody lights with a light bar and brake lights
