Default SOC Meter issues w/ Navitas Controller

Newbie here. Have a 2014 RXV just upgraded to a Navitas controller and my stock SOC meter does not appear to be working correctly - reads full, doesn't drop during use, turn key off and back on it reads half, etc. Noticed similar issues in older posts here. Will contact Navitas about their software, but wonder if others have hooked up an after market SOC meter directly to battery pack (4 12 volt batteries) and if that makes sense/is smart. Thanks.

Definitely go with an aft mkt LED digital SOC meter.

RXV meters are much more than volt meters, they "talk" to the controller and do SoC, volts, AHs, run time, etc. Hopefully it's just a simple matter to get old meter to talk to new controller?

I think you may simply need a software update. The early versions had SOC issues, but were fixed with update software that I think you can install via the bluetooth interface that comes standard with Navitas Controllers.

Curious-what improvements are you seeing with the Navitas? I've been holding out for a 350 curtis that I would like to get in Bob's hands. Unfortunately, I have the Danaher so I also need a conversion kit for the harness

I can spin the tires on anything but pavement and top out around 28mph with 18.5" street tires

If you search for videos of RXV Navitas you can see a video of where I put the 0-21mph test side by side. You can see the difference in acceleration. I did 21mph because that's what the Danaher would top out at.

I replaced a Curtis 235 controller. House is up a steep hill from the course and play a hilly golf course. Have the Navitas on-the-fly programmer as well. Cart has 14" wheels. Wide open on the programmer, straight and level, chickened out at 40 and the cart was not yet done. Up the hill to home, the Curtis would top out at 10-11 MPH. With the Navitas get some improvement, but would have loved more - 13-14 MPH. Decent percentage increase, but with cars behind me wanting to do 25-30 will always feel like I'm crawling. I run the OTF programmer at 50% on speed, 35% on brake, and 55% on acceleration. Took a bit of trial and error to get to those settings for my use, but with these I get the speed I want with a smooth enough ride with the regen, and it doesn't run away from me down the hill on the way to the course. Hope this is useful.

Thanks. Will contact Scotty. I'm curious about hooking the after market SOC directly to the battery pack while I wait to hear back from Navitas on my software version vs. what is most current relative to the OEM SOC meter.

These claims are suspect to me. The stock motor, with stock gears, and stock tires does 27mph at about 9600 motor rpm, "freedom speed" 19mph is about 6400 rpm. The jump from "totally stock 14mph, how fleet cars are set", to "now 40+ mph, but otherwise same setup" is the issue. Is Navitas spinning the motor to 12,800 rpm? (Not saying those rpm numbers aren't achievable, but I would take issue sending that out the door everyday). Got gears?
