![]() I have a 2014 Club Car Precedent. Took it out today for a drive around the neighborhood and it seems noticeably slower. I also noticed if I was coasting to a stop it would shudder or act like the brakes were grabbing even though I wasn't using the brakes. There is also a whine from the rear end area. Need some advice what to start checking. The grandkids were the last to use it so expecting the worst but hoping for the best.

![]() Do the speed sensor test first, then go from there.

![]() The MCOR would not cause that so it is time to pull the motor and check the brushes. One may be gone or out the holder or another issue. The inspection should reveal it.

![]() How much of a job is that? I am pretty mechanically inclined. Do you have to pull the motor to do it? Thanks! BTW battery voltage check out fine at 50 degrees and hasn’t been on charger in over 24 hrs.

![]() Easy-peasy. If it has a lift, really easy. If not, jack up the rear, Run/Tow in Tow, Pack Negative disconnected, penetrating oil on all motor studs. Double wrench them one at a time and remove the cables. The F1/F2 are probably push-pins. Then their are four (4) mounting bolts. 3 obvious and 1 all by itself. Then get two hands on it and lay under it to support the ~40 pounds or so when you pull it off the shaft. You can tie a strap around it and have someone help.

![]() Finally got the motor off today. I feel sure the problem is there as it has a nasty burnt smell. Is disassembly very hard and what should I be looking at? Or am I better off getting a replacement at this point?

![]() I was able to get the motor partially disassembled. I cannot figure out how to remove the armature from the brush end. It does not have a plate on the end to access the brushes. Help needed please.

![]() From what I can see of the brushes they seem ok. Loads of dust. Any suggestions what to do would be appreciated.
Thanks! |
