Looking at used Precedent, need advice
Hey guys,
Looking at a well used 2005 Precedent for my next project. I had a DS previously, so I'm looking for a new challenge this year. See the link below for the ad. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-other/st...car/1047948558 ImageUploadedByTapatalkHD1423803972.883385.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalkHD1423803984.089615.jpg I'm going to look at it this weekend, can you guys give me some tips what I should be looking for? Any known issues with this year? I did a search nothing really stood out. Thanks in advance for any help! |

Re: Looking at used Precedent, need advice
I have an 04, and haven't had any issues with it besides a speed sensor that was very easy to diagnose and replace. It looks like this one was on a golf course, so question to ask first of all is how old are the batteries. I bought mine 5 years ago now for $1600 with 4 year old batteries and have since had to replace them, which is about $1100. Then its all about taking care of the batteries and getting all the goodies that you want put on it.

Thanks Grinds6!
Yeah, I have a sneaking suspicion I'll be looking at replacing batteries right away, which I'm going to use to negotiate a lower purchase price. Did you keep the 12v, or install 6 x 8v? |

That would be a great deal in my area. Precedents never get that low here, unless they're in rough shape.

Re: Looking at used Precedent, need advice
I just paid $2700 last November for my 2012 with original batteries. That 2005 looks about the same, you should be able to get it cheaper than the 2012 a good bit I'd guess.

Re: Looking at used Precedent, need advice
I was told the best carts come from the Northern States and Canada because they are only used 1/2 the year . If a 2005 seams like the batteries were replaced at lease once .

Re: Looking at used Precedent, need advice
Like you said, use the batteries to get some leverage on the price. Find the date of them and let the seller know just how old they are and will probably need replacing as well. And as usual, let the seller know of any other issues that will cost something to make right again

With the exchange, 1700 sounds like a deal to me. Wouldn't that be equal to 1350 in US? currency

Without batteries these go more than that if everything else is good.
