Re: battery cable corrosion
Sergio I'll check that Thanks.
abamadude, they are the silver colored ones. Do you think I should cut the shrink off and give the cable a good cleaning and then re-shrink it? |

Re: battery cable corrosion
Scottyb, what mrgolf says does make sence! you said to coat all surfaces before and after installing. I have only been coating them after installing. like I said earlier maybe I should cut off the shrink, clean everything, recoat cable and lug, re-shrink, install and recoat everything again?

Re: battery cable corrosion
Cut the shrink off, and if you see green it may be too late to just clean it. Corrosion can wick all the way down a wire.

Re: battery cable corrosion
I got out to the detached garage this morning and cut the shrink off the pos cable. Looks like I got lucky no sign of corrosion on the cable itself. I'll give it a good cleaning and coat cable with the protective spray, re-shrink it, clean and coat the battery post, put it together and coat it all one more time. I'll see if that helps. Thanks guys

Re: battery cable corrosion
Looks to me like that cable is most likely corroded under the end and up the cable like I was talking about.
If you look close part of the end is corroded off. |
